Fellow, Global Health Equity

Jens Grueger is a Fellow based in BCG’s Zurich office and a Partner and Director, Market Access and Pricing in Health Care. Jens was named a BHI Fellow in 2022, and has focused his research on a systems approach to global crises, leveraging health equity as a case study, partnering with BHI Fellow Srikant Vaidyanathan.

His research explores, develops, and defines different systems that need to be addressed to achieve sustainable and equitable outcomes including (Local and Global) Solidarity, (Health and Non-Health) Interventions and (Incremental and disruptive) Innovation.

Jens has 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, leading the Global Value, Access and Policy teams at Novartis, Pfizer and Roche. He is a frequent speaker on access, pricing and equity and has spoken at places such as the World Health Summit, industry conferences and leading universities in addition to C-suite events of Fortune 500 clients. His research has been published in leading publications including Value in Health, International Journal for Technology Assessment in Healthcare, Pharmacoeconomics and Biometrics.

Jens is also an Affiliate Professor of Health Economics at the Comparative Health Outcomes, Economics and Policy (CHOICE) Institute at the University of Washington in Seattle, and was the 2020-2021 President of ISPOR, the largest professional society for health economics and outcomes research.

Outside of work, Jens enjoys traveling and playing golf with his wife Christine, as well as good food and wine. He is married and has 2 grown-up daughters.
